Still in development, the design of this village will be developed by four distinct character areas: Desert Preserve Character Area, which serves as an environmental buffer roughly a mile on either side of the Cave Creek Wash; Rural Desert Character Area will include equestrian properties; Suburban Desert Character Area utilizes the look and feel of the Sonoran desert in its design complete with channelized drainage; and Growth Corridor/Core Character Area will reflect the village of Desert Ridge.

Scottsdale Fashion Square, Kierland Commons and The Biltmore Fashion Park are also close by with their one-of-a-kind shops and upscale boutiques. Desert Ridge and Desert View's student population attends the highly-rated schools of Paradise Valley Unified School District. The famed Mayo Clinic Hospital is also found here in Northeast Phoenix.
